Watched Network last night. An amusing little fairy tale, but only served to confirm my impression that the 1970’s was one of the stupidest eras in American history. Not that I believed it was a particularly accurate depiction of the TV business. But god – the furniture, the clothes, the hair, the communist terrorists, television as the Great Satan, the hair, the charicatured capitalist tycoon, the hair!. Really, 70’s people, what were you thinking? How did you manage to make an entire decade look cheap, sleazy, and shallow in retrospect?
