We finally watched American Beauty tonight. I liked it. It reminded me a lot of a kinder, gentler Fight Club though, maybe with a little Office Space thrown in. There seems to be a deep well of suburban professional middle-aged angst out there from which these kind of movies are drawn from. I guess that’s what you get for failing to have a life outside of your work. Morons.

I’ve been listening to a lot of Achtung Baby lately. I’m really digging this album. With repeated listens it has a chance of supplanting The Joshua Tree as my favorite U2 album. Maybe. Nothing soars quite as high as Joshua Tree, but Achtung adds a jagged edge that’s very appealing – while still free of the irony later albums seem laden-down with.

I’m mostly over this bug. Thank goodness, I’m sick of staying home.

I’m hoping to see all you Baltimore folks out at Kommencement this Sunday… so be there, ya hear?

    Is one of the albums I tend to forget, but every time i put it in the player, I am surprised at how good it is again.

    Sometime in the future, we should plan a U2 concert trip together. Start saving now, since ticket prices are always sky high.

      For as much as I like U2, the show is really disappointing. I mean it’s a show, no doubt about that! But I really prefer the feel of a club venue (and I realize U2 is much too big for that, but…). I saw Stabbing Westward at The Rubb (itty bitty club) in Tampa and I much preferred that show to the U2 concert (mobile lemon and all) which was at Raymond James Stadium (is it still called that?) also in Tampa.

      …Keeping in mind, U2 is my favorite band!

    am i the only one that doesn’t like U2? ok, i do like some of their older stuff but yeah…

    i am seriously thinking about saying fuck sleep and coming out on sunday. i need interaction with something besides a computer after spending 24 hours in this lil room by myself.

    and like BG said, finish your drugs!:)
