One Shot, One Kill!

I had a ball last night with shadowandlight. First we went fishing. The lake was beautiful and it was nice to just stand or sit and stare out at the setting sun and chat. As something to do with one’s hands while being companionable, I think I fully approve of fishing. Also, there was no messy mucking about with fish, which I felt was a bonus. We did catch a worm and a couple trees between us, but we threw them back.

After that we played around in his pool for awhile, and then went for a walk up the hill behind his house at dusk. There I stared in awe at the gorgeous view – rolling farmland and forest, as far as the eye could see, in all directions. And everywhere we looked shimmered with millions of fireflies.

Then I watched South Park while he made himself some dinner. South Park’s portrayal of the ATF is frighteningly believable.

Pizza in hand, we played video games for the rest of the evening. First up was something featuring SWORDS and BATTLEFIELDS in ancient China. Then it was time for some good old-fashioned FPS deathmatching in James Bond: Nightfire. We wound up having far too much fun on a level with nothing but sniper rifles and two buildings separated by tran tracks, trying to be the first to snipe each other. This went on for quite awhile. I think we came out about even. shadowandlight‘s most annoying gambit was to grab a cloaking powerup and sneak up behind me in the building I was sniping from. Of course, even cloaking isn’t perfect invisibility, as he found out to his chagrin…

Much fun. Can’t wait to find out what we do next week!

  2. J got all ticked off at me last time I went fishing with him because I didn’t want to tear a worm in half.
