An Invitation

Allow me to present to you The Wood Between the Worlds. You are all cordially invited to join.

From the description:

“No, I don’t believe this wood is a world at all. I think it’s just a sort of in-between place.”
– Polly, in The Magician’s Nephew, by C.S. Lewis

People are people so why should it be
You and I should get along so awfully?

– Depeche Mode

Welcome to the Wood Between the Worlds, where hatred is powerless and guinea-pigs are happy. It is nowhere, but only a few steps from everywhere else. It is a common ground for anyone who has ever felt that they are caught in-between worlds, not wholly a part of any. It is a place of reconciliation, acceptance, and affirmation.

If you feel as if you have connections to many groups, but aren’t fully accepted by any, this community is for you. If you find that you often understand and sympathize with both sides of an issue, this community is for you. It’s a gathering of misfits. A refuge for the habitually ambivalent. It is not intended to be the beginning of yet another another identity group, but rather as a place where diversity is welcomed. It is founded on the notion that for all our differences of opinion, we have more in common than we think.

The goal of this community is twofold: to provide a safe and accepting space for the ideologically eclectic, and to foster understanding between disparate communities. Here you are encouraged to talk about who you are, what you believe, and the value you find in those beliefs. So long as you are accentuating the positive, rather than attacking someone else’s point of view, no subject is taboo. Debate is a worthy and important pastime, with many good forums dedicated to it; but this is not one of them.

We have nothing to lose, and much to gain, by learning from each other. So put your green ring in your pocket, your yellow ring on your finger, and come join us in the Wood Between the Worlds.

  1. ‘the twigs of the rings ?’

I have rings and a sock and I have always loved the woods. How does one join this sylvan community? . . .
