Energy Drink Reviews

Since I’ve been drinking a lot of them lately…

Red Bull: I haven’t actually consumed on of these lately, it’s just here as a baseline.  This drink is the answer to the question “Mommy, what does yuck taste like?”  Keeps the drinker awake using a similar principle to the one behind repeated slaps to the face.

AMP: Drinkable.  Barely.

SoBe Adrenaline Rush: Probably the best attempt I’ve tasted so far at making a a buttload of of stimulants and B-vitamins taste faintly palatable.

SoBe No Fear: Not quite as good as Adrenaline Rush, but it’s BIG.

Monster: Hideously medicinal on the first swig, but quickly becomes more palatable as your mouth grows accustomed to it.  Either that or the instantly addictive nature of it’s stimulant payload causes your brain to disregard taste in it’s blind rush to get another fix.

Stacker-2 Stinger. Enraged Rasberry Flavor: Blecherous.  May in fact be mislabelled anti-freeze.  Avoid.

  1. aren’t they long-run counterproductive?

      1. are they not energy suckers, long-term? caffeine/etc. stimulated energy seems ungrounded and unsustainable.

        1. Is it? Got any documentation?

          1. nope! not a bit other than personal anecdotes.

( many people saying they relied on caff etc to energize, and it only drained / debilitated / made them dependent. )

  2. hey, i like my fair share of anti freeze. actually stackers 2 arn’t that good, the original stackers use to have efedra in them and they were godlike.

  3. I am the anti energy drink. I hate them with a fiery passion. Plus they don’t work in the least.

    1. LOL, my comment sounded so negative and it definitely wasn’t meant to be. Whoops! ;c)

  4. I thought the Stackers 2 tasted particularly good. :-p

  5. Try KMX….sorta like MinuteMaid but less sweet, kinda tart and with tinier bubbles…

    🙂

  6. Hey ~ your post referred to ‘repeated slaps to the face’ as that might in all cases be a necessarily negative thing by definition, as is the taste of Red Bull . . . and yet repeated slaps to the face would definitely be either a negative or a positive thing depending on the context, having a much greater potential for either positivity or negativity than the taste of Red Bull, in any situation . . .

    1. All I was saying is that both will keep you awake, but neither is the most pleasant way to stay awake.

Ha, ditto. My mother and I bought two of these at a drugstore one time last summer as we were driving down to the beach. She got the diet one and I got the regular, just because we both felt that we needed an energy fix. We thought we had accidentally picked up something medicinal instead of a beverage. :p
