I still can’t get through Assemblage 23’s “30KFT” without bursting into tears.
No band should have this much power.

have you the same problems…
with VNV-Forsaken (vocal version)
NIN–the great below
and now..
NIN–right where it belongs…
cuz I do… although its not so much a burst as a sob…
Re: have you the same problems…
I’m not familiar with the latter two, and I don’t know my VNV tunes well enough to know if I’ve heard the first. I’ll have to check ’em out…
Re: have you the same problems…
hmm…
I’ll try to upload them somplace soon… and then you can download them and check them out… forsaken–which is a tremendously sad piece–that is then later answered by the song “Beloved” is amazing.. the other too are more reflective for me–they bring tears to my eyes because of the intensity of “despair” and “self-doubt” that they respectively raise…
more later.. must go sell bodily fluids now..
Re: have you the same problems…
“Beloved” has been known to make me cry. It’s one of the most moving songs I know. Oddly, it didn’t occur to me until I played it for a friend that it could be heard as a very sad song. It feels so very transcendent (there’s that word again) to me.
Re: have you the same problems…
Oh.. I also see Beloved as pretty transcendent.. It’s a beautiful song… what’s more incredible to me is that Beloved is, in my mind, very much an answer to forsaken… In Beloved, we have someone who has come to terms with the loss of a loved one–who still misses them–perhaps while visiting their grave–but who has come to terms with that loss and is almost a bit hopeful about reunion sometime later..
In forsaken–there is no such hope.. it is the song that takes place in this timeline at the funeral of that loved one.. as everyone is walking away.. and you are left alone in desolation..
It is wrenchingly beautiful in its painfulness.. in my view..
and you can get it here once it’s done uploading in about 5 minutes…
Try listening to it and then to Beloved… it’s quite moving..
Re: have you the same problems…
Powerful.
Re: have you the same problems…
the lines that get me are..
“what happens now… have I done something wrong.. forgive my need to breathe right now.. please forgive my need to breathe.. but I’ve so much to say.. It wouldn’t matter anyway.. you’re not here to hear these words I must say.. and I’m convinced there’s nothing more… ”
