…I’m Chevy Chase, and you’re not.

In brief, as always.

Friday: Diablo II with shadowandlight and Travis. Necromancer…ing continues to be a highly rewarding career path.

Saturday: Had coffee with a couple we met via Titanic Artifacts exhibit at the Whitaker Center in Harrisburg. I was frankly underwhelemed by the exhibit; there were only a very few exhibits on display, and not a great deal of additional information presented, either. The “touch the iceberg” bit was kinda gimicky too, in my opinion. Some of the brief bios of passengers were interesting though. I liked Benjamin Guggenheim’s: he was a millionaire, and realizing that he had no chance of surviving (only women and children were being allowed aboard the too-few lifeboats), he got rid of the life jacket and heavy sweater the steward insisted he wear. He and his valet changed into their finest tuxedos, went up to the deck, and pronounced: We’ve dressed up in our best and are prepared to go down like gentlemen.

On the other hand, the James Cameron-produced 3D IMAX film Ghosts of the Abyss was thoroughly enjoyable. Far more watchable than his awful feature film Titanic, and with better music to boot.

  1. I saw that exhibit to. Actually I should say I ggot roped into paying twenty bucks to go see that and the rest of some philly museum where I didn’t even get to see the things I ould have wanted to look at and other wise was dragged around and not given the option to do and alternative activity. So I found the whole thing rather annoying, and also kind of low on actually exhibit, although the finding out if you did thing at the end was kind of neat.
I didn’t like the movie much, it didn’t seem a good use of Imax technology to me, it was kinf of like ooo, I can see this guys nose hairs and they’re three feet long on the screen.

  2. Ahh, Diablo II. Happy were the days and looooooong were the hours I spent developing mods for that game. About 2000, all in all. Of course by then I wasn’t playing it so much as testing it for bugs, but I still had a lot of happy fun playing it too. 😛
