Scheduled a dental consultation (re: surgically removing my wisdom teeth) which I have been putting off since, oh, January or so.
Yay for kicking procrastination’s ass.

Amateur, I’ve been putting off getting my wisdom teeth out for 10 years. It’s a great way to get rid of the gaps between your teeth.
Have fun with that. I had a HORRIBLE experience getting mine removed. I almost ended up in the hospital in the end. I’ll tell ya the story on request.
Good luck with that! Make sure they give you the good pain meds!
A word to the wise: when they tell you to keep ice on your jaw, you keep ice on your jaw, okay? I mean, keep it on there constantly. You want to get them pulled on a Friday so that you have the weekend… if you keep the ice on there it will not swell at all. Mine didn’t. I had a really easy time of it. Also, take your painkillers, they are also anti-inflammatory.
That is also in my future. . .le sigh.
The funny thing is, it never occurred to me until I saw all these responses to put it off due to the pain involved. I’d just been procrastinating, pure and simple.
…now I realize that perhaps I should be afraid…
The lower ones, they tell me, are the most difficult and painful. Which is why they’re probably telling you all about the pain.
The only one I ever had was on top. Much easier. Before I knew it, the thing was out and I was on my way home. No pain killer, no nothing.
Plus, if you have all four, or more than one, to be removed at a time that also causes much more pain and suffering.
Enjoy!
I guess it varies. It wasn’t bad for me. I had all four done at once, no painkillers afterwards (massive novacaine during) and not much soreness. I did find it annoying that the pits where the teeth had been caught food very easily, but the bent-tipped squirty thing they gave me worked (make sure you get one).
“surgically removing my wisdom teeth”
Awww, that’s the cutest way of putting “ripping the bastards from my skull” I’ve ever heard… because they do, indeed rip them from your skull…
