Hillary Clinton thinks people like her should be prosecuted

Ugh. I’ve really wanted to ignore this whole Hillary Clinton email thing. In the grand scheme of things it’s just stupid and overblown. It’s the kind of IT fudging that everyone in or near government winds up doing in order to actually get shit done in an environment of perpetually-outdated regulation. Making a huge deal out of it is a lot like making a huge deal out of, oh, say, a president’s sexual indiscretions.

But it seems some of those emails were legit top secret:

It turns out that at least two of the emails which traversed Hillary Clinton’s personal email account and server were “top secret,” according to the inspector general for the Intelligence Community as reported by McClatchy.

The Obama administration, of course,  has:

…notoriously prosecuted more individuals under the Espionage Act of 1917 for improperly handling classified information than all previous administrations combined.

And Hillary was part of that:

To defend the persecution of Chelsea Manning, the then-secretary of state said classified information “is sensitive … deserves to be protected and we will continue to take necessary steps to do so.”

Does she deserve to lose a presidential election for this? Hell no. But it’s still a severely fucked-up situation. It’s hard to believably stand up for “the little guy” when you’ve been given a pass on breaches that would have had “the little guy” fired and possibly jailed.
