Weekend Update

I just got back from seeing Luther. Good movie. I cried.

Also picked up The Sacred and Profane by Mircea Eliade and The Varieties of Religious Experience.

Now I’m enjoying an exceptional ale from a local brewery.

Life is, for the moment, good.

  1. I may go see Luther on Sunday.

    1. Thanks for clueing me in to the $2.50 movie theatre!

      1. You’re welcome.

  2. With all the hooha over “Passion” I totally forgot “Luther.” Gotta see that, one way or another. (Theatres tweak my people-o-phobia.)

  3. I’ll try to see Luther next weekend.

Interesting sounding books. I’m interested to hear what you’ll think of them.

I tend to like dark ales or stouts.

I’m happy for you, my friend!

    1. I love dark beer. I just finished off the last of bottle a of a nice triple stout last night. We’ve also got some lovely rich porter from Flying Fish Brewing Company.

Good beer is one of the joys of my life. Fortunately there’s a big liquor store on my way home from work which stocks a lot of microbrews. I won’t drink that pisswater you see advertised on TV.

      1. Here’s a couple of beers of note:

Old Rasputin is a stout brewed by the North Coast Brewing Company, located on California’s Mendocino coast. It not only tastes great but they sell t-shirts and other products with Rasputin’s picture with the words “Never Say Die”.

He was difficult to kill, to say the least. I plan to get the t-shirt, and maybe the tin sign.

Another beer of note is Dead Guy Ale, one of the Rogue line of ales brewed by Oregon Brewery Company. Very tasty, with a picture of a dead guy sitting atop a cask, wearing a bee hive on his head. This beer is dedicated to “the Rogue in all of us” and was created to celebrate the Mayan Day of the Dead (Nov 1st).

        Enjoy.
