I’d heard good things about The Prestige, the book. Then I saw they’d made a movie of it. Now I learn that it’s directed by Chris Nolan, one of my favorite directors, and stars Christian Bale, one of my favorite actors. Instant must-see. But that’s not all. Oh, no.
It’s also got…
…omg…
!@*&ing David Bowie as @#*!ing Nikola Tesla.
Permit me a moment of utter nerdy fanboy glee.
*dies*
Oh, and Scarlett Johansson, just to round things out.
oooo…*drool*
I know, right? Androgynous hotness meets wizardly genius hotness.
I am taking my Mom to see it. And I must say the parts that I have snuck in to see are Fab.
Come to think of it, I’ll bet my mom would like it too.
Extremely good movie, I highly recommend.
David Bowie has a much larger part than I anticipated, and he does it well.
Better and better…
It’s an AWESOME movie!! I *loved* it. And yeah…the Bowie. And the Tesla. Oh the awesomeness.
Re: your icon
Any film-geeky insights about the movie?
Scarlett Johansson
Noticing a woman’s mouth is kind of unusual for me.
Maybe it was the B&W treatment of The Man Who Wasn’t There that makes her kisser unforgettable…
Re: Scarlett Johansson
Hm, I’d forgotten she was in that. Another good movie.
Oh, we squealed like little fangirls. Both of us. Believe me. ^^
Grr. That was me. I didn’t realize I was logged out.
Your QC icon is ironic. ‘Cause, I mean, Rand really wasn’t that much of a pragmatist when you get right down to it. At least philosophically speaking. Right?
Yes, it was amazing! We see a movie (in a theater) once every three months or so, and is was definitely worth it. I was theorizing sub-plots for days thereafter.
Maybe it’s time for one of my rare theatre visits…
He’s a pretty fascinating guy. What’s your connection?
